Vietnam to Provide 100 Scholarships to Cambodia Students:

Vietnam’s education minister has said that his country will provide 100 scholarships in 2010 Cambodia students, and that the cooperation between the ministries of education of the two countries will be further promoted.

 

Education Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, who is also Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister, made the comments in a meeting in Phnom Penh last Thursday with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

 

He said that his visit was aimed at strengthening the cooperation with Cambodia in the development of education and human resources.

 

He described the progress in Cambodia’s education sector as a good step that 97% of the Cambodian children have access to education.

 

For his part, Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen gave a brief outline of how the education sector of Cambodia had progressed since 1979, and recommended that the two ministries should meet every year to review the implementation of their cooperation./.(AKP)

Cambodia-Vietnam Security Ties :

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Jan. 12 stressed that Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security needed to boost their co-operation to benefit people in both countries.

 

He made this statement while receiving Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng in Hanoi, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

 

Dung expressed his pleasure with the great achievements in the traditional and friendly relations between the two countries, as well as with the results of meetings between Sar Kheng and Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh.

 

He said he hoped that in the future, the two ministries would actively implement their agreements.

 

Dung said that the good relationship between the two ministries would create favourable conditions for the two countries, especially for their border-sharing provinces.

 

The Vietnamese leader said that the two ministries needed to develop their mutual support and co-operation in training and the exchange of professional skills to ensure security and social order.

 

For his part, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng said that the co-operation between the two ministries had contributed to boosting the development of the two countries’ relations across all fields.

 

He affirmed that the Cambodian Government was ready to co-operate with Vietnam in implementing the agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders, including the co-operation agreement between the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

 

Earlier yesterday, Sar Kheng held talks with Anh about the two ministries’ co-operation last year, and on the co-operation between the two ministries this year./.(AKP)

PM Hun Sen Receives Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment:

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here on Jan. 13 visiting Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc.

 

            In the meeting, Phuc informed Samdech Hun Sen of the discussion between the two ministries of Planning, which focused on the strengthening and expansion of their cooperation including the information exchange, human resource development and the setting up of a homepage of the Cambodia-Vietnam-Laos Development Triangle.

 

            He further told the Cambodian leader of his talks with Senior Minister and Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh over the investment in this Development Triangle area, said Ieng Sophalet, assistant to Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

 

            In reply, the Cambodian premier welcomed the cooperation between both Ministries of Planning, recommending them to pay attention to the cooperation consolidation between localities in the area.

 

            The Cambodian prime minister also expressed his satisfaction with the increasing Vietnamese investment in the country./.(AKP)
